Catching Bees

Bzzzz….
Bzzzz….
The flower opened his eyes.
“I must have fallen asleep in the flower field”, he thought.
In front of him was a big bee with a huge grin on his face.
Effortlessly gliding and drifting through the air.
“How majestic…”
He looked around and saw a couple more of them.
They were flying from flower to flower and having an incredible time.
The flower tried to step closer and touch one of the bees. But every time he got close, the bee would shy away….
“They don’t like me!”, the flower thought…
Out of the blue, a Pioneer flower approached him.
“No, that’s not how you do it.”, he warned…
“Bees are picky and mysterious creatures. They don’t land on just any flower. And they don’t like to feel pressured. Plus, you are incredibly lucky to see that many of them. Only a couple dozen come to the Oasis every week. “
The flower got disheartened. “So… How do I attract one of these beautiful creatures?”
“Hm…Do you have some honey on you?”, the Pioneer flower asked.
“Yeah! I got my reward from the Oasis bank yesterday. And I still have some left from last week’s harvest games. I would love to offer it to a bee.” the flower said.
“Good choice. If the bee decides to join you, the payoffs are huge. Bees are magical creatures. When they are around you and care for you, they help double your honey production.”
“What? Just like that.”
The flower started thinking. “Double the honey that I am making now? I will never have to worry about honey for the rest of my life…”
“Yes. You only need to make sure that you care for them. Like yourself, bees also get tired. So if they feel that you are not treating them well, they will start to produce less and less extra honey for you.”
“I will never make my bee feel unappreciated or tired”, the flower thought. “I will always give them enough honey.”
So how do I start? The flower boy wondered…
“Still got the honey with you? Simply put it in a small pot outside your door before you go to bed. Who knows, maybe you will wake up with a bee in your garden tomorrow.”
“How exciting! I for sure won’t be able to sleep tonight.” the flower cheered.
“Yes. But since you are not the only one who tries to attract bees into his garden, the chances that the bee will stay with you are 50%.”
The sun was slowly setting in the Oasis and the flower said goodbye to his Pioneer fren.
The bees were still roaming around the gardens full of flowers and honey.
“What a magical place”, the flower thought. “And I hope soon I’ll get to share this experience with a bee friend. I never thought that I would ever be this happy…”
After the flower arrived home, it took a small pot of honey and placed it in his garden.
Before the flower went to bed, it thought “Please, please, I would love to share my beautiful garden with a bee tomorrow.”
The next day, the flower woke up to a surprise…
Was it a bee that landed in its garden? We’ll soon find out…
